Looking for a new mattress is never a simple task, which is why it’s important to do your research on all the features, pros, and cons. Layla is making quite the name for itself as of late, offering both the Layla Hybrid Mattress and the Layla Memory Foam Mattress. While the hybrid model certainly has its share of pros and cons, the Layla Memory Foam Mattress tends to be the more popular choice and the mattress that the company is known for.
As its name implies, this one is made from memory foam as well as polyfoam. Both types of foam are used in the mattress's support core and comfort layer, which gives people a real sense of how memory foam works for the body. For those who like to make it a habit to flip their mattress regularly, the Memory Foam Mattress allows you to do so. However, keep in mind that the Hybrid Mattress doesn’t allow for people to flip it.
In terms of the memory foam mattress’s profile, this one is pretty standard coming in at 10" in thickness. This means it's not overly thick, so finding sheets to fit shouldn't be an issue. On the flip side, the Layla Hybrid mattress can cause some issues with finding properly fitting sheets. Because it is 13" thick, you'll need to stick with the deep-pocket sheets. These can sometimes be a little harder to find, and pricier.
Price wise, the Hybrid model comes in at about $600-$700 more than the Layla Memory Foam Mattress. This can be attributed to the fact that it has a very different construction to it.
What else sets these two Layla mattresses apart from each other? If you're looking for a "highly responsive" mattress when you lie down, then the Layla Hybrid checks off all the boxes. Meanwhile, those looking for a mattress that contours to their body shape will appreciate the Layla Memory Foam model. It creates the feeling of the mattress actually shaping and enveloping their body rather than you just lying on top of a hard surface.

Layla Memory Foam Mattress Top Considerations:
As for the firmness, there is a choice between the firm and medium settings. Your choice will obviously be based on your own sleep habits and comfort level. Picking the right level of firmness can be tricky, so you want to be sure you choose wisely.
You aren’t choosing between two mattresses, rather it is the same mattress with two different firmness “settings” which you choose by flipping it to your desired side.
The firm mattress setting rates a 7-8 out of 10 on the firmness scale and is meant for those who weigh 130lbs or more. Back sleepers and stomach sleepers above this weight tend to find the firm level more supportive and comfortable all-round.
For those who weigh less than 130lbs, are side sleepers, and tend to hug the side of the bed, then the medium-soft setting makes more sense. Also, those who are light sleepers tend to prefer the medium firmness, which is a 4 out of 10 on the firmness scale. At the same time, if you are a heavy sleeper that really likes the feeling of a mattress that conforms to your body, the medium firmness model will work well.
Layla Mattress Specifications
The construction of the Layla Memory Foam Mattress features four distinct layers. Two are dedicated to comfort and the other two are dedicated to support. Again, the mattress is flippable, since it is all-foam, which means you have control over the firmness level. Your needs may change over time and all you have to do is flip the mattress for the desired setting.
As mentioned, the mattress is 10" in thickness and while both sides will offer contouring benefits, it is the medium-soft side that will conform to your body.
As for the specifications, the medium-soft side features 3" worth of copper-infused memory foam as the top layer. This is responsible for the hugging sensation your body will feel. It's also the copper that helps to keep your body cool, so you won't have to worry about overheating. As a side note, copper also has antimicrobial benefits to it.
After the top layer comes the transitional polyfoam layer, which is 2" thick. This is what provides support to your body while you sleep. The next layer is 4" thick and is made of polyfoam, sitting on top of 1" of copper-infused memory foam. Finally, there is the firm side, or layer. This is made up of a single 1" layer of memory foam. So, while it is still comfortable, you won't get that same level of body contouring as the medium setting offers.
